Daniel Thomas Vart

A Physiotherapist, and a Teacher

​

Throughout his nearly 12 years as a Physiotherapist, Daniel has acquired extensive experience, working with patients from various backgrounds and disciplines.

​

He was involved with national rugby union for 6 seasons. Starting with the National Youth Rugby Programme in 2012, then moving on to the Men's Under 20s 7s. He has worked with the National Men's 15s in the Asian 5 Nations and National Men's 7s in the world series qualifiers. After that he was appointed Head Physiotherapist for the National Women's 7s team, for the next 4 years.

During this time, he traveled extensively with the team, whilst they competed in the Asian Rugby 7s series, 2014 Asian Games in Incheon and World Series Qualifiers and Olympic Qualifiers in Dublin. He held this position for 4 years.

 

Domestically, Daniel worked with the the Men's HK Scottish Premiership Rugby team for 6 seasons and as Head Physiotherapist for 3 seasons.

 

In addition to rugby, Daniel has worked with athletes from other sports, such as tennis, swimming, running, triathlon, soccer and ballet, at both amateur and elite levels.

 

Daniel has worked at a private Physiotherapy clinic here in HK for nearly 17 years. His extensive clinical work has included rehabilitation of occupational injuries such as neck and back pain, treatment of chronic pain patients, joint replacement rehabilitation pre and post-surgery and pre and post-operational rehabilitation of sports injuries and accidents.

Exercise Rehabilitation

After completing a BSc Sports Science in Australia in 1999, Daniel worked as a personal trainer both in Hong Kong and London for the next 4 years. During this time he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in exercise prescription for weight management, strength and conditioning and injury rehabilitation. He incorporates this into his treatments, ensuring a complete and optimum recovery for his patients.

Stretch Therapy 

After returning to Hong Kong in 2003, Daniel was trained by the inventor of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) Aaron Mattes in 2004, Daniel has been using AIS in most of his treatment sessions ever since. AIS is an assisted and dynamic form of stretching, that can be used for therapy, as well as before, during and after exercise.

Sport Massage

As part of his degree studies in Australia, during the late 90s, Daniel also qualified in Sports Massage.

During this time, Daniel was able to gain valuable experience working with some of the world's top tennis stars.

In 2008 and 2010, Daniel worked with the Australian Wallabies and the New Zealand All Black's, during their Bledisloe Cup campaigns, here in Hong Kong.

Later on, in 2012, Daniel had the opportunity to work with the Cirque Du Soleil performance group, during their Hong Kong performances of Saltimbanco.
