A Canadian trained Medical Acupuncturist and Certified Massage Therapist with over 20 years experience.

 

Since graduating from Northumberland College(Canada), she has worked closely with orthopaedic surgeons, family medicine doctors, physio and occupational therapists, kinesiologists and podiatrists in a variety of sports medicine and physiotherapy clinics in Canada and Hong Kong.

She works closely with physiotherapists in order to assess and customise each treatment to the individual athlete/client. Her practice consists of evidence based medical acupuncture and deep tissue massage therapy, in conjunction with modalities such as ultrasound, manual lymph drainage, myofascial release, gua sha and kinesiotaping.

​

 

Shari enjoys teaching and passing on her extensive experience and knowledge to others. She has taught courses in Anatomy/Physiology, Nutrition and Massage Therapy Assesments/Techniques at Everest College in Canada. She was also on the teaching staff for Continuing Education Studies at McMaster University in Canada as an instructor/examiner for their Medical Acupuncture program. In Hong Kong, she has developed and taught pre and post natal massage courses.

As a former competitive swimmer, she understands the importance of preventative therapies and maintenance to keep athletes performing at their optimal level. She has worked with many athletes (adults and children) to keep them injury free including ultrathoners, marathoners, triathletes, swimmers, bodybuilders, tennis players, golfers and dancers.

​

She has been delighted to have been asked to help out at charity and sporting events such as the Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic(Canada) and in Hong Kong at the Rugby 7’s and Cirque de Soleil. The highlight of her career has been assisting the dancers at the Hong Kong Ballet for the past five years.

​
